A Video of Photos from Charles Bush Photo December Tours

Experience the magic of Louisiana’s cypress swamps in December — when cool mornings often bring fog and backlit mist over mirror-still water. These atmospheric conditions transform familiar landscapes into ethereal scenes of soft light and glowing reflections.

Early December is my favorite time to photograph Cypress Landscapes. While the foliage is often past its peak, the cooler weather often brings fog or mist. Fog enable s creating high key etherial image in black and white. Mist lends itself to creating stunning backlit images that makes the swamp appear to be on fire.

This short video showcases images created during past December Photo Tours, highlighting the unique photographic opportunities that only this season provides — from sunrise through the golden hour.
