Hurricane Ida
We finally got back home last week after a 31/2 week stay in Oklahoma. It's good to be back, but while our house is fine, many places around us are not. There's a constant banging of hammers in the neighborhood as people get their roofs put on. We were very fortunate with this terrible storm. Driving through the Lafayette area where we do the tours on the way back confirmed no damage, so the storm does not impact photography on the fall trips.
Photo Tours
There is still space in the Fall Tours. Sign up here if you want to attend. The fall tours are always great, with unique opportunities to photograph ancient cypress trees at their fall best. The Spring tours are also listed. You can get details and sign up here.
Software Updates
DXO has updated the Nik Collection to run natively on Macs with Apple Silicon. Fortunately, the Nik Collection was the last plug-in I frequently use that would not run on photoshop on my new Mac in native mode. As a result, I now can run Photoshop in the faster native mode. Tony Kuyper has updated his Photoshop Panel to version TK-8; I've purchased and downloaded the update but haven't loaded it yet. This panel has been my go-to method for creating intelligent masks in Photoshop for some time. I've been using a beta version of this for some time to allow compatibility with my M1 MacBook.
