I want to thank my friends at Back to Normal Physical Therapy for purchasing a 40" x 60" print of my "A Foggy Morning in the Swamp" photograph taken during my December Photo Tour at Lake Dauterive.
During the image selection process, we used an app on my iPad called Shoot and Sell, to pick the best image for the room and to select the proper size. The app allows you to photograph the wall, choose the room dimensions, and place the image on the wall as it will appear when printed.
Taken with my D800e camera at ISO 800, I used Topaz Denoise AI to remove high ISO noise in the image and Topaz Gigapixel AI along with Photoshop's Bicubic Smoother Enlargement Algorithm to enlarge the image to the 40" x 60" size. I used a layer mask, selectively controlling the enlargement technique used to maximize image quality. For most of the image, Topaz Gigapixel did the best job, but there were areas where Bicubic Smoother produced a more realistic result, and I was able to paint in the proper effect using the layer mask.
The clients preferred an Acrylic print, and I chose Nevada Art Printers for the print job. On their web site, Nevada Art Printer had a ColorSync profile available, allowing me to "Soft Proof" the print on my calibrated monitor. The results were stunning, a nearly perfect tone and color match as well as first-class printing and finishing quality. The print was produced in a timely manner and carefully shipped in a custom made crate arriving in perfect condition.
A photograph of the print on the wall at Back to Normal is at the beginning of this post.
