Welcome to the latest edition of the Charles Bush Photography newsletter! We're thrilled to bring you exciting news and opportunities for capturing stunning moments in the Louisiana Swamps this November, next April, and May.
Equipment Upgrade
I’ve resisted upgrading to Nikon mirrorless cameras until now. The Z7 didn’t have the autofocus system to match my D850’s. I didn’t like the Z9 because it was too large and bulky. The Z8 appeared to hit the sweet spot of good autofocus and a smaller size comparable to my D850. So I ordered a Z8 and went through the paces, and sure enough, it exceeded all my expectations. While I still have much to master on this new camera, I can exceed what I can capture with the D850s. Therefore, I have a second one on order and plan on selling both of my D850s. It’s a bit sad as the D850s have served me well; by far the best camera I’ve owned, and I’ve made quite a few beautiful images with the cameras.
Please get in touch with me if you are interested in a D850; I plan on listing them on eBay on October 8th. I want to give my readers the first choice of these beautiful cameras. Camera one has fewer than 15,000 shutter activations, and I’m asking $1700. Camera two has fewer than 70,000 shutter activations, and I'm asking $1500. You can pick the cameras up locally, or I’ll ship Priority mail at your expense. Both are in excellent condition with only minor wear and tear; everything works as designed. The cameras include a working battery, charger, a 64GB XQD card, and a quick-release L bracket. I have the original box. These cameras are the US version, not grey market. The D850 is still a worthy camera and still available new for more than double the price.
Prints for Sale
During the next month, my photographs will be featured at Leferve’s Art Supply and Framing in Houma. A collection of prints in smaller size are available at the shop. Purchase one of the featured prints and have it framed, or you may order a larger print to be framed. Leferve’s is the best custom framing shop in Houma; please use Lefereve’s for your custom framing needs. I’ve included a gallery of images available at Leferve’s here.
