Equipment for sale
I’ve gone all in with the Z8 system, so I’m selling most of my f-mount cameras and lenses. I have already sold both of my D850’s and plan to sell the following. I plan on listing these on eBay if no one here is interested.
Nikon 500mm f5.6 AF-S PF lens. This incredibly sharp yet small, light lens is ideal for flying birds. I’ve had it for several years, and it has been my primary long lens from on the boat. I’m replacing this with the new Z System 600 PF, so I no longer need this excellent lens. This is an incredible lens if you stick with Nikon DSLRs.I’m selling this for $2200.00. the lens is in pristine condition; it’s had a lens coat cover in it since I purchased it new.
For 25 years, the Nikon 600mm f4 AF-S D lens has been my go-to lens for bird photography. Optically, it is as good as new and works well with all DSLRs and the Z system when used with the adapter. The autofocus is smooth and quiet, and the focus snaps into place normally. The body shows some signs of wear from years of use, but it is still very sharp, though less sharp than the latest 600 f4 lenses. However, I'm having trouble carrying it on the tripod due to its weight, so I’m selling it for $2000.00. It's an inexpensive way to own an exotic Nikon telephoto lens.
Wimberly WH-200 Gimbal head. Since I’m selling the 600 f4, I no longer need this Gimbal heard. It is in pristine condition with a lens coat cover in place since I purchased it new.
I’m also selling the TC-14e teleconverter I purchased with the 600 f4 for $90. It’s the older AF-I version, but it is optically the same as the current one and functions perfectly, making the 600mm f4 an 840mm f5.6.

Computer Problems
On Tuesday, we had a power glitch while I worked on Lightroom images. The UPS worked, and I shut the computer down immediately. However, when I powered the computer back up, it would not come back to life. After several attempts to reset it I contacted Apple, and they had me try to reload the firmware with no success. So Wednesday, I took the computer to the Apple Store in New Orleans, where they tried the same thing again, with the same result. Fortunately, Apple Care covers it, but it will be sometime next week before it’s back. The good news is I have an excellent disaster recovery plan, and within an hour, everything is accessible from my laptop. Things aren’t as fast, but I can work. So, it highlights the need for backing up everything and having a plan in case the unthinkable happens. Also, given the nature of today's Apple computers, the days of repairing them yourself are essentially over, and Apple Care is a good investment. Things would have been much worse with no backups, recovery plan, or Apple Care. This is something I can help with; if you need help setting up a backup plan, please get in touch.
