Great Egrets Building Their Nest–Cazan Lake at PJF Farms Taken April 2024
I led back-to-back photo tours the week of April 14th. Both tours provided many photo opportunities. We photographed Osprey in Flight at Henderson Swamp and photographed the rookeries at PJF Farms, Rip’s Rookery, and Miller’s Lake. Photo Opportunities at all three of the rookeries yielded great images. My best images from these tours may be seen here.
The Remaining Spring Tours
Great Egret Courtship Display–Cazan Lake Taken April 2024
The May 5th Tour has no openings, so I’ve added a tour on May 19th. The rookeries are better this year, and with all three offering great opportunities, this is a great opportunity to photograph the chicks. The Great Egret Chicks should be large, and there is a greater possibility of Roseate Spoonbill Chicks at this later date. My best shot of Roseate Spoonbills with Chicks was taken on May 15th, many years ago. I’m only accepting 3 participants and will only conduct the tour if it is full. The November 3rd Tour has no openings, so I’ve added a November 10th tour to the previously scheduled November 17th tour.
